At the Rhinestone Club, singer Stephanie is in love with bartending Bugsy, but dreams of Carnegie Hall. When owner Big John offers her the chance to go there, she can’t resist. But that leaves her without Bugsy, and having annoyed Big John’s girlfriend, and lesser singer, Charlene. When all of her dreams turn sour, it’s croupier Jim who reminds her of her Salvation Army background. But is it too late for her to return to Bugsy, or has he decided that the muck at the bottom of the fridge is more appetising than the butter on the top shelf?
